Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- eight plus years of import/export compliance experience
- strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and programs
- proficiency in Microsoft Office
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- ability to handle high volumes of complex import documentation and billing activities
- legal authorization to work in the United States
- ability to perform duties with normal office mobility and computer use
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management or related field preferred
- eight plus years of import/export compliance experience
- strong understanding of international logistics and supply chain operations
- in-depth knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and programs including CTPAT, ABI, GSP, FTA and HTS classification
- proven experience conducting compliance audits and processing customs entries
- strong analytical skills with ability to collect, interpret and present complex data
- proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- experience with AS/400 or similar import/export systems preferred
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- ability to effectively collaborate across departments and external partners
- customs broker license preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Track and monitor ocean and air freight shipments to ensure timely delivery and accurate documentation
- prepare and process import entry documentation with proper HTS classification and compliance with U.S. Customs laws
- coordinate the transportation of shipments from ports of entry to company warehouses or customer facilities
- analyze and revise Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) reports and ensure timely payment of duties
- provide daily updates and proactive communication to internal departments on shipment status
- compile, analyze and report import data and key metrics
- review and validate freight invoices, especially for DHL shipments, for accuracy and adherence to agreed rates
- create customs duty billing forms and submit to accounting
- assist with billing reconciliation
- proactively identify and resolve transportation, documentation and compliance issues
- recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in import operations
- prepare and manage all documentation required for duty drawback programs
- assemble and submit monthly compliance and import activity reports to headquarters
- perform other import-related duties to support logistics operations
