The Imaging Representative plays an essential role in ensuring that physician orders and insurance authorizations are secured prior to the patient’s visit, thereby facilitating smooth patient flow and minimizing delays.

The position requires close attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage patient record requests and provide administrative support tailored to the imaging department's needs. As part of the healthcare team, the Imaging Representative promotes a positive work environment and contributes to teamwork and communication among staff to achieve optimal departmental results. Effective communication skills are crucial for this role, as it involves interaction with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers to ensure a high level of service and customer satisfaction. This role demands proficiency in basic computer skills, especially with word processing and electronic medical records (EMR), as well as knowledge of basic medical terminology to understand and relay essential information accurately.

The position is business professional in dress code, does not require a uniform or scrubs, and does not usually entail on-call duties or travel. This role is ideal for individuals with at least one year of strong customer service experience, particularly in a healthcare setting, who are adept at managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a focus on patient safety, privacy, and satisfaction.

By joining Houston Methodist as an Imaging Representative, you become part of a prestigious organization known for its compassionate care and dedication to improving community health outcomes.
