IHOP Host/Hostess

The Host/Hostess position is crucial as it involves greeting guests promptly, cheerfully, and courteously. This role requires an individual who can smile genuinely and make every guest feel welcomed. The responsibilities extend beyond just welcoming guests; they include opening doors for guests as they arrive and leave, addressing special needs such as boosters, highchairs, or accommodations for disabilities, managing phone inquiries, and maintaining an organized online wait list. Additionally, the Host/Hostess will handle the taking, entering, and packaging of to-go orders, including delivering these orders to guests' vehicles when necessary. This multifaceted role also involves supporting servers with guest assistance, such as serving food and drinks and cleaning tables to ensure a smooth dining service flow.

Our ideal candidate is punctual, well-groomed, arrives in a clean uniform, and is ready to contribute positively to the team each day. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the physical stamina to lift items weighing between 5 to 15 pounds, stand for up to eight hours, and perform activities that involve pushing, pulling, stretching, and bilateral use of fingers and wrists.
