Job Description

Known for its commitment to excellent customer service and quality food, IHOP has built a reputation as a go-to destination for breakfast and a variety of delicious meals throughout the day. As part of a large and well-established organization, employees benefit from a supportive environment that encourages growth and development within the foodservice industry. Working at IHOP means being part of a team dedicated to creating memorable dining experiences for customers.

This cook position involves more than just making pancakes; it requires skill and passion in preparing a diverse menu that keeps guests returning. Employees in this role will be trained thoroughly, so prior experience with breakfast restaurants is advantageous but not mandatory. The company values a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and the ability to work efficiently with a sense of urgency. Success in this position comes from teamwork and dedication to maintaining IHOP’s standards for food quality and service.

The cook will be responsible for setting up kitchen equipment, verifying stock levels, and ensuring all food preparation areas remain clean and sanitary throughout the shift. The role demands attention to detail in following recipes according to IHOP’s specifications and preparing food within established ticket times to keep the service smooth and customers satisfied. It also involves the ability to read food orders either from tickets or verbal instructions, operate kitchen machinery such as flat tops, deep fryers, stoves, and dishwashers, and safely handle knives and other food preparation tools.

Team members must be reliable and punctual, coming to work ready in a clean uniform and with a professional appearance. The physical demands of the position include standing for extended periods, lifting or moving up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive tasks with full use of hands and arms.
