The Food Runner position at Southland Casino is a vital role essential to maintaining the efficiency and quality of food service within the casino's restaurants. As a Food Runner, you will be responsible for expediting food orders from the kitchen to guests swiftly while adapting to the dynamic and fast-paced environment of the hospitality industry. This role demands excellent communication and teamwork since you will collaborate closely with Chefs, kitchen staff, and servers to ensure that guests receive their meals promptly and that the dining experience exceeds expectations. The position includes assisting with the assembly of dishes and sometimes delivering orders table-side or explaining menu items as needed.
Working as a Food Runner offers excellent training and mentorship opportunities, making it an ideal starting point for those looking to build a career in hospitality. Although this is a tipped role, the base hourly pay ranges from $15.00 to $16.00, excluding potential tip earnings, demonstrating a commitment to competitive compensation. Delaware North also offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee well-being and long-term career success. Benefits include weekly pay, flexible work schedules, employee discounts, training and development opportunities, and eligibility for health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching, paid vacation, parental leave, and professional education assistance.
Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks such as standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting up to 35 pounds, and maneuvering through tables and corners are required due to the nature of the work environment. This position primarily involves evening shifts and weekend work to align with the casino's peak operational periods.
