Delaware North Gaming is currently hiring full-time and part-time Food Runners at Southland Casino Hotel. This role is pivotal in ensuring guests receive their food promptly and enjoy a seamless dining experience. As a Food Runner, you will be responsible for expediting food orders from the kitchen to guests while responding efficiently to the ever-changing needs of a busy restaurant environment. This role requires excellent communication and teamwork skills as you will collaborate closely with chefs, kitchen staff, and servers to guarantee timely preparation and delivery of meals. The position also involves some guest interaction, such as explaining menu items and assisting with table-side service.

Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience or training as a runner or busser with a similar style of dining, capacity, and volume preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • No high school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Visual acuity and hearing sufficient to take orders and prepare checks

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience or training as a runner or busser with a similar style of dining, capacity, and volume preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Attend pre-shift briefing, taking note of important service information
  • Collaborate with chef, kitchen team members, and servers to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food
  • Assist with the assembly of dishes
  • Complete any required table-side service, including taking and delivering orders and explaining the menu to guests
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, and preparations
  • Maintain kitchen and dining room cleanliness and organization
