Job Description

Ian's Pizza Verona is a vibrant and dynamic restaurant known for delivering delicious pizza and creating an energetic atmosphere that keeps guests coming back. Rooted in a strong commitment to quality food and exceptional customer service, Ian's Pizza has cultivated an inclusive and welcoming culture that's focused on teamwork, growth, and community. Located in Verona, this establishment isn't just about great food—it’s about creating memorable experiences for every visitor, whether they’re grabbing a quick slice or celebrating a night out. The team at Ian's Pizza values dependability, awareness, connection, generosity, and effort, all encapsulated in their Big Five Code of Conduct, which guides everything from daily operations to long-term growth initiatives.

Ian's Pizza Verona is currently hiring a Bar Manager, a unique and exciting role that goes beyond traditional bar management. This position offers a minimum guarantee of $21.50 per hour with additional earnings possible through tips, averaging between $21.50 and $24.50 per hour for most department managers. The role includes excellent benefits such as premium and affordable health and dental care, IRA retirement plans with up to 3% match, profit-sharing opportunities, flexible scheduling, and complimentary pizza to keep the energy high. Paid time off (PTO) accrues starting from day one at 2% of hours worked, which highlights the company’s commitment to supporting work-life balance and personal well-being.

As a Bar Manager at Ian's Pizza Verona, you will be at the heart of the restaurant’s operations, leading the bar team and ensuring every shift runs smoothly and energetically. This role involves training and developing team members, serving drinks, and maintaining the unique "Ian's Vibe" that sets the establishment apart. You'll collaborate closely with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager to equip your team with the tools and training they need to succeed. Beyond the floor, you will handle behind-the-scenes tasks such as meetings, responding to communications, managing special projects, and overseeing department efficiency.

Product ordering and bar maintenance are also key responsibilities, requiring a solid understanding of craft beers and liquor. While crafting original cocktails is a bonus, it is not a mandatory skill. The position demands adaptability and cross-functional capability, as you'll be expected to perform in all general staff positions — front of house, kitchen, and shift lead — within six months, embodying the company's standards for customer service, food quality, and overall excellence.

The bar manager role is designed for an individual with at least one year of supervisory experience in the food and beverage industry and two or more years of bar-specific experience. You must hold or be willing to obtain a valid Operator's License and complete a food safety certification within six months. The role requires physical stamina such as standing and walking for long periods, bending, crouching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating kitchen equipment. English proficiency is mandatory, and bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are highly valued.

The schedule involves 35-40 hours per week, with 30-35 hours spent on the floor engaging with customers and the team, and 5-10 hours dedicated to administrative tasks and project work. The hours primarily cover evenings and weekends, times when the restaurant buzzes with activity. Communication and teamwork are essential, as you will share responsibilities with fellow managers to manage emergencies and provide shift coverage as needed.

Joining Ian's Pizza Verona as a Bar Manager offers a unique opportunity to grow your career in a supportive environment that values your development and well-being. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, fun, and community-oriented workplace and is eager to lead a team while maintaining a lively and welcoming atmosphere. Apply today to become part of a crew where you can be yourself, sharpen your leadership skills, and enjoy great pizza while building a fulfilling career.
