The Hybrid Driver role at FleetGenius is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the company’s operations. Drivers are responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the company’s yard or site under all weather conditions. A typical workday starts early at 6:30 am and ends at 3:30 pm from Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts. Operating a 16-foot box truck safely is a key responsibility, including loading and transporting containers to and from customer locations. The work requires navigating diverse environments such as driveways, alleys, parking lots, and high traffic roads, often maneuvering through tight overhead spaces. Drivers must be proficient in using smartphone devices to access routing and inventory management technology, making adaptability and technical savviness important. This role not only demands physical stamina and safe driving skills but also attention to operational detail to ensure the accurate management and documentation of daily tasks. Job Requirements
- Work hours vary by route and are typically 10-12 hours per day
- Pushing, pulling, and lifting 50 pounds or more
- Pushing or pulling up to 450 pounds on wheels
- Valid driver license
- Ability to work Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays
- Must be able to operate a 16-foot box truck and navigate various driving conditions
- Ability to use smartphone devices and adapt to routing and inventory technology
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver license
- Previous experience in driving box trucks or similar vehicles preferred
- Ability to use smartphone technology for routing and inventory management
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete documentation accurately
- Good physical condition to handle manual tasks
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
- Familiarity with basic vehicle inspection and maintenance processes
Job Duties
- Operate a vehicle in accordance with the companys rules and safety protocol as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws
- Performs pre and post trip inspections of assigned equipment and documents checks on standard VIR (Vehicle Inspection Report)
- Completes and submits customer tickets as required
- Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation (includes picture taking, notes etc.)
- Pressure washing (90 percent) and repairing, sorting, and inspecting of waste/recycling containers (10 percent)
- Inventory management of waste/recycling containers (includes data entry)
- Operating forklifts is a plus, but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
