Job Description
Hyatt Centric Downtown Sacramento is a vibrant, independent hotel nestled in the heart of Sacramento's bustling downtown district. Known for its proximity to key entertainment venues, shopping districts, and a myriad of dining experiences, Hyatt Centric embodies the area's reputation as the "farm-to-fork" capital. The hotel sits conveniently close to historic landmarks associated with the California Gold Rush and the Transcontinental Railroad, offering guests a rich blend of cultural immersion and modern hospitality. Whether guests are exploring local museums, attending events at the Golden 1 Center, or enjoying the city's lively nightlife, Hyatt Centric serves as the perfect home base.
Within this dynamic environment, the hotel features several culinary destinations such as The 7th Street Standard, a restaurant celebrated for its eclectic West Coast-inspired dishes, extensive wine list, and specialty cocktails. The Clayton Club, a rooftop bar and restaurant, offers panoramic views of the city skyline alongside live jazz performances on select nights, creating a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere. These venues, complemented by private dining and event spaces, underscore Hyatt Centric’s commitment to delivering exceptional food and beverage experiences.
The role of the Food Runner is pivotal in maintaining the seamless flow of service and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the property’s dining outlets. As a Food Runner, you will be the behind-the-scenes hero who supports servers and enhances guests’ dining experiences by delivering food and beverages promptly and professionally. Your duties will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including addressing guests by name to create a personalized experience, assisting with menus, ensuring the presentation of the food meets high standards, and maintaining cleanliness and stock levels in service areas.
This is a role best suited for individuals who are enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Food Runner will work closely with both front-of-house staff and kitchen teams to monitor orders, relay kitchen timing information, and help keep the dining and kitchen areas tidy and orderly. Knowledge of the menu, specials, and beverage offerings is essential, as is the ability to respond swiftly and courteously to guest requests.
Employment at Hyatt Centric Downtown Sacramento offers more than just a job; it provides an opportunity to be part of Evolution Hospitality’s lifestyle vertical, a company dedicated to creating distinct, engaging experiences across luxury and boutique hotel brands nationwide. Evolution Hospitality values honesty, humility, and a commitment to personal and professional growth, fostering a workplace culture where team members can thrive and contribute to a world-class operation.
This full-time position is eligible for a competitive benefits package after an initial waiting period, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, short-term and long-term disability income, life insurance, paid time off, employee assistance programs, and a 401k retirement plan. A unique benefit offered is the availability of daily pay options, providing additional financial flexibility. Ideal candidates will have at least one year of experience in an upscale restaurant, hotel, or private club environment, a high school diploma or equivalent, and certifications related to food and alcohol service.
Join Hyatt Centric Downtown Sacramento as a Food Runner and take part in delivering exemplary service that reflects the vibrant culture and culinary excellence of the region. Step into a role where your contributions not only enhance the guest experience but also support a premier hospitality brand committed to excellence and community engagement.
