Job Description

The Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel (CCRH) is renowned as a premier destination resort that prides itself on delivering an exceptional guest experience rooted in Traditional Tribal Hospitality. Situated in the heart of the Coeur d'Alene Tribal lands, the resort encompasses a wide range of amenities, including luxurious accommodations, diverse dining options, gaming facilities, and entertainment venues. Dedicated to upholding the cultural heritage and values of the Coeur d'Alene Tribe, CCRH offers a warm, welcoming environment for both guests and employees alike. They emphasize a family-oriented atmosphere where every team member is treated like part of the family, making it a truly unique place to work and visit. As an employer, CCRH is committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and supportive work culture where individuals have the opportunity to grow professionally while contributing to the overall success of the resort.

The Prep & Bussing position at CCRH is a critical role within the resort's food and beverage department, primarily responsible for supporting the kitchen and dining service areas to ensure that guests receive the highest quality food and service. This position is a tipped role, meaning that employees receive their tips in cash daily, providing an immediate and rewarding compensation for their hard work. The role involves maintaining a clean and organized work environment, keeping tables and floors spotless, and ensuring the continuous availability of menu items by managing stock levels and replenishing supplies such as sauces and items in the Little Dragon cold case. This job requires a strong adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, effective time management, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic kitchen environment.

Team members in this role are responsible for following recipes meticulously and preparing food items consistently according to the resort's standard operating procedures. They also play a vital role in inventory management by organizing the walk-in cooler and freezers, following First-In-First-Out (FIFO) rotation procedures to minimize waste, and promptly unloading and storing deliveries. The position demands vigilance in monitoring temperatures of food items to ensure safety and quality, maintaining temperature, time, and waste logs, and assisting with prep work such as making sauces and preparing list of needed prepped items when necessary. Beyond kitchen duties, Prep & Bussing staff engage in cleaning tasks including wiping down tables, removing garbage, clearing dirty dishes, and sweeping floors to maintain a hygienic dining environment.

Candidates for this position should be at least 16 years old and must be able to obtain a food handler's card, underscoring the importance of food safety knowledge in the role. While prior kitchen and bussing experience are preferred, the most essential attributes include the ability to work independently, skill in multitasking, strong communication capabilities, and proficiency in working collaboratively within a team environment. Employees must be capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working within confined spaces. The physical nature of the job requires stamina, agility, and a keen attention to detail.

CCRH practices an Indian Preference hiring policy, prioritizing Coeur d'Alene Tribal Members, spouses and/or children of tribe members, other enrolled members of Federally Recognized Tribes, before considering all other applicants. This ensures the opportunity to work and grow within the resort is extended preferentially to those connected to the tribal community, fostering economic development and community engagement.

Overall, the Prep & Bussing position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a welcoming resort environment committed to excellence in hospitality. It is an ideal role for individuals who are detail-oriented, enthusiastic about food service, and eager to contribute to a vibrant team. Working at CCRH not only provides a rewarding work experience but also the chance to be part of a culturally rich and community-focused organization that values its employees as family.
