5 STAR Event Services is now seeking energetic, reliable, and guest-focused individuals to join their Guest Services Team for the upcoming Pokémon Regional Championship at the George R. Brown Convention Center. This role is designed as a permanent part-time, hourly position with the opportunity to participate in additional events throughout the year spanning sports, music, and entertainment sectors. Compensation starts at $12.00 per hour and offers opportunities for professional growth and expanded work shifts. As part of the Guest Services Team, employees will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and overall positive experience of attendees including guests, players, vendors, and fellow employees. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- at least 18 years of age
- reliable forms of communication and transportation
- ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- ability to lift 25lbs
- full physical and mental dexterity with the ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, hear, see and speak English clearly
- flexible availability including evenings and weekends
- willingness to work in outdoor venues and elevated noise levels
- ability to pass level 2 security license training, exam, fingerprinting, and background check
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- at least 18 years of age

- level 2 security license (level II training and exam provided for free

Job Duties
- Enforce and uphold the integrity of all public, private, and restricted areas within the venue
- monitor entry and exit points, ensuring only authorized guests, players, staff, and vendors access designated spaces
- perform routine search and inspection procedures, including bag checks, ticket/credential verification, and screening for prohibited items
- greet guests with a friendly, professional attitude and provide directions to seating areas, tournament zones, restrooms, and venue services
- maintain clear and safe access routes for both pedestrian and vehicle walkways
- assist with line management, crowd flow, and player movement to maintain smooth event operations
- respond to guest questions, concerns, and complaints in accordance with company policies and event procedures
