Job Description

Holiday Inn is a well-established global hotel brand recognized for its commitment to providing guests with comfortable and welcoming accommodations. Since its inception in 1952, Holiday Inn has grown into a trusted name in the hospitality industry, known for delivering high-quality service and memorable guest experiences. This hotel brand is part of the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), which operates numerous properties worldwide, catering to both business and leisure travelers. The hotel's focus lies in offering a warm, inviting atmosphere where guests can relax and feel at home, whether they are staying for a single night or an extended period. Holiday Inn values its employees as an essential part of this goal, promoting a work culture centered around teamwork, professionalism, and exceptional guest service.

The role of the Floor Attendant at Holiday Inn involves assisting room attendants on assigned floors by managing linens and maintaining cleanliness throughout the guest areas. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction the hotel strives for. The Floor Attendant is responsible for collecting dirty linens and transporting them to the laundry area, delivering fresh linens to room attendant carts, and occasionally assisting with stripping linens from rooms or cleaning public areas. They also deliver and retrieve items requested by guests and housekeeping staff, ensuring timely and efficient service. This role demands a proactive attitude, the ability to work collaboratively within a team, and a genuine care for guests' comfort and satisfaction.

The job is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift substantial weights—carrying or pushing items weighing up to 75 pounds regularly and occasionally pushing or pulling items up to 300 pounds. Additionally, the role demands stamina to stand, move around frequently, and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and kneeling. Candidates should have basic reading, writing, and math skills with some housekeeping experience preferred, along with the capability to communicate effectively in English. This position may involve working varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry.

Holiday Inn offers competitive hourly wages ranging from $23.95 to $25.00 for this role in Torrance, CA, with the final pay within this range based on factors such as education, experience, and performance. Employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and a 401k plan. As a member of the Holiday Inn team, employees are encouraged to "Be you" by bringing their natural personalities to work, "Get ready" by being prepared and knowledgeable, "Show you care" by connecting thoughtfully with guests, and "Take action" by going above and beyond in their roles. This collaborative, guest-focused, and supportive work environment is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality and looking to grow within a respected global brand.
