The role of Houseperson within the Hilton Housekeeping team is pivotal to maintaining the hotel’s cleanliness and creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. This full-time position involves the cleaning and upkeep of public and guest areas across the hotel, including restrooms, offices, banquet, meeting, and conference rooms. The Houseperson is instrumental in supporting the overall guest experience by ensuring that all designated areas meet the highest standards of hygiene and tidiness. Responsibilities include tasks such as dusting, polishing furniture and fixtures, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping floors, shampooing carpets, washing windows, waxing floors, and proper disposal of trash and ashtrays. Beyond routine cleaning, the role extends to reporting maintenance issues, stocking supply rooms, performing deep cleaning projects, and assisting with guest requests including delivery services and occasional help with guest room cleaning.
This role requires interaction with guests, thus the ability to greet and assist visitors in a friendly and professional manner is essential. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a cleaning role is desirable
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Effective communication skills
- Capability to handle physical demands of the job
- Willingness to respond promptly to guest requests
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is an advantage
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks
- Customer service orientation
Job Duties
- Clean designated areas including restrooms, public areas, offices and banquet, meeting, conference rooms
- Perform dusting, polishing furniture and fixtures, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, shampooing carpets, washing windows, waxing floors, removing and disposing of trash and emptying ashtrays
- Greet guests in a friendly manner
- Report maintenance deficiencies and items in need of repair
- Stock and maintain supply rooms as needed
- Perform deep cleaning tasks and special projects
- Deliver guest requests and assist in cleaning guest rooms as needed
