The Houseperson contributes directly to the overall guest experience by maintaining a clean and orderly environment that meets the high standards expected by Marriott and Duprey Hospitality. From moving and arranging furniture to vacuuming, dusting, and polishing metalwork, this role encompasses a diverse range of duties essential for hotel upkeep. The Houseperson also plays a vital role in replenishing linens and cleaning supplies, assisting front desk staff with guest requests, and ensuring outside areas are free from debris. Job Requirements

  • no prior experience or education required
  • ability to communicate effectively

  • physical capability to perform duties including walking, standing, reaching, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, stooping, handling, and seeing
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs maximum with frequent lifting or carrying of objects up to 25 lbs
  • ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background check
  • willingness to wear non-slip shoes
  • tolerance for working in protected indoor environment with potential exposure to paint, solvents, cleaning chemicals, and fumes
  • ability to work well with a diverse group of people

Job Duties

  • provide professional and courteous guest service at all times
  • clean and maintain all public, storage, and administrative areas
  • move and arrange furniture
  • dust and polish metalwork and furniture
  • vacuum floors
  • clean bathrooms
  • remove trash
  • replenish linens and supplies when needed
  • stock assigned cleaning cart for work shift
  • deliver television sets, ironing boards, baby cribs, rollaway beds, or other guest amenities
  • assist front desk agents in fulfilling guest requests
  • clean outside areas and remove debris
  • follow procedures for acceptance and security of guest lost and found items
  • maintain room quality based on hotel and brand standards
  • attend monthly department meetings
  • complete projects determined by management
  • actively seek out other tasks when current work is complete
  • assist coworkers and other departments as necessary
  • participate in ongoing education and training
  • clean swimming pool area if applicable
  • perform other duties as assigned
