Job Description

Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Grand Prairie is part of MCR, the third-largest hotel owner-operator in the United States. Established in 2006, MCR manages a portfolio valued at $5.0 billion, which includes 148 premium-branded hotels encompassing over 22,000 guestrooms across 37 states and 106 cities. They operate hotels under nine Marriott brands, eight Hilton brands, and several independent properties. Recognized for innovation and excellence, MCR has earned prestigious awards including Fast Company's 10 Most Innovative Travel Companies of 2020, Marriott Partnership Circle Award, and the Hilton Legacy Award for Top Performer. Their TWA Hotel at New York’s JFK Airport has received multiple honors including the Development of the Year (Full Service) Award at The Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS) and the American Institute of Architects national Architecture Award.

The Houseperson role at Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Grand Prairie embodies MCR’s commitment to cleanliness, friendliness, quality, and teamwork. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests, directly impacting guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. The Houseperson supports both front and back of house operations by handling luggage, maintaining cleanliness in guest and public areas, managing trash and linens, and ensuring that customer spaces are well-stocked and orderly. Performing with a ‘‘can-do’’ attitude and a willingness to engage beyond traditional role boundaries, the employee contributes to a masterpiece of guest service and hotel upkeep.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in guest relations, consistently greeting visitors with warmth and professionalism, using their names whenever possible to foster a personal connection. They will possess strong knowledge of hotel features and amenities to effectively support guest needs and hotel events, as well as proficiency with necessary technology and phone etiquette. Maintaining spotless cleanliness is fundamental, from guest hallways and stairwells to exterior areas including parking lots and the swimming pool vicinity. The role also entails monitoring furniture upkeep and restocking linens and amenities promptly to ensure a premium experience.

Teamwork and communication are vital; the Houseperson is expected to collaborate seamlessly with all team members, maintaining clear, professional communication, and contributing positively to the work culture. Adherence to operational checklists, timely shift handover reports, and compliance with uniform standards and professionalism further define the position. Physically, the job demands stamina and the ability to perform repetitive motions, lifting, climbing, bending, and prolonged standing or walking. This role requires adaptability to varied schedules including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on hotel demand.

Courtyard by Marriott offers a comprehensive benefits package, including hotel discounts, weekly pay, paid time off, retirement options, referral bonuses, and career advancement opportunities. Full-time employees are eligible for health, dental, and vision insurance after 30 days of employment. This full at-will position underscores MCR’s dedication to fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment where employees can thrive and grow within one of America’s leading hospitality companies.
