The role of Banquet Houseman is pivotal within the casino's banquet and event services team. This position is responsible for assisting with the setup, service, and cleanup of all banquet functions, ensuring each event meets and exceeds the expectations of guests. Being a fast-paced job, it requires constant customer interaction and teamwork to maintain a productive and safe working environment. The Banquet Houseman will play an essential support role during events by efficiently preparing banquet rooms according to specifications, managing equipment inventory, handling guest requests, and communicating effectively with supervisors and other departments. This includes coordinating with servers and event coordinators to ensure smooth delivery of services and maintaining cleanliness and organization in all banquet areas.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Level 4 Gaming License required
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands and arms, bend, kneel, stoop, crawl, talk, and hear regularly
- Ability to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Successful completion of screening for essential job functions
- Availability to work in a casino environment with noisy and smoky conditions
- Willingness to adhere to all safety, sanitation and security policies
- Ability to attend all required trainings, meetings, and staff sessions
- Must be able to perform all physical demands of the position
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to perform basic math skills including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to excellence and maintaining a professional demeanor when interacting with guests and colleagues
Job Duties
- Set rooms, buffets, and tables according to BEO specifications and supervisor instructions
- Handle all guest requests and request assistance from Banquet Supervisor as necessary
- Ensure that all storerooms are clean, organized and secured
- Organize banquet rooms to ensure a productive, safe and energy conserving work environment
- Ensure that all unused rooms are set to department's standards
- Constantly communicate all concerns to Banquet Supervisor
- Assist in equipment inventory as scheduled
- Ensure proper maintenance including cleaning and repair of all equipment
- Pick up food from kitchen and return dirty dishes and carts to dish area
- Ensure hot boxes are properly operating and assist in expediting the food
- Assist servers during service by responding to their requests and notify Banquet Supervisor immediately of any difficulties
- Advise Sales department and Banquet Supervisor regarding equipment needs, rentals, supply needs, and staff issues
- Assist in record keeping and filing
- Attend staff set-up and technical training regularly
- Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees
- Perform all guest contact activities with a cordial, efficient and professional manner while maintaining commitment to excellence
- Adhere to all department and casino-wide policies and procedures
- Enforce all safety and sanitation procedures including safety guidelines and OSHA requirements
- Maintain adequate level of security to safeguard equipment inventory
- Attend all department and staff meetings and trainings as required by management
- Work closely with Event Management and Group & Event Coordinator to ensure smooth delivery of all services and events
- Empty trash and stock bus carts as needed
- Maintain side stands, cleanliness of banquet area and stock prescribed pars
- Maintain constant awareness of services, promotions, and events offered at the facility and inform guests
