Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to two years supervisory experience in housekeeping or laundry
  • Two years experience in long-term care preferred
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local sanitation regulations
  • Ability to manage staff and resolve interdepartmental issues
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to work day shift
  • Must be able to provide 24-hour on call service

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred
  • One to two years supervisory experience in a commercial establishment with housekeeping and laundry knowledge
  • Minimum two years work experience in long-term care preferred
  • Knowledge of sanitation regulations and team management
  • Ability to maintain sanitation standards and regulatory compliance
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Supervises all environmental services personnel and daily work effectively
  • Processes and maintains records of accounts payable, supplies, equipment maintenance, and other business
  • Assists in creating and implementing housekeeping programs and record-keeping systems
  • Trains housekeeping and laundry personnel on cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Assigns duties and inspects work for cleanliness standards
  • Ensures environmental and linen cleanliness and sanitation
  • Organizes employee shifts and arranges for replacements
  • Works with residents, nurses, physicians, and other staff on service requests and infection prevention
  • Prepares schedules for housekeeping program performance
  • Performs daily rounding and inspections
  • Performs housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • Coordinates cleaning of all facility areas including offices, restrooms, lounges, lobbies, and utility areas
  • Coordinates emergency housekeeping tasks
  • Coordinates with maintenance for floor and carpet services
  • Performs terminal cleaning and isolation unit cleaning according to procedures
  • Monitors and replenishes cleaning products inventory
  • Provides 24-hour on call service for emergencies
  • Makes recommendations to improve service and operational efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned
