Job Description

The Children's Recovery Center of Oklahoma (CRC) is a specialized treatment facility located in Norman, Oklahoma, operated under the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS). This center serves all 77 counties across the state, providing vital crisis stabilization and residential treatment services to youth ages 13 through 17 facing substance abuse challenges as well as co-occurring mental health and trauma-related conditions. As an essential public health institution, CRC is committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care in a supportive and excellence-driven environment dedicated to the well-being and recovery of Oklahoma's youth.

The CRC is currently seeking dedicated Housekeeping/Custodial Workers to join its Support Services team. This full-time role is integral to maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy inpatient environment. Employees in this position will be tasked with routine cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash disposal throughout the treatment facility. This ensures that all patient and staff areas meet stringent health and safety standards vital for therapeutic success and daily operations.

The Housekeeping/Custodial Worker role exists at two levels: Housekeeping I and Housekeeping II. The Housekeeping I position requires no prior experience and offers an hourly wage of $13.70, translating to an annual salary of approximately $28,500. The Housekeeping II level requires a minimum of six months of custodial experience in a building or institutional setting or an equivalent mix of education and experience, with a higher hourly wage of $14.66 or roughly $30,500 annually. Both positions are full-time and may require employees to work weekends and overtime as needed.

In addition to standard custodial duties, responsibilities may include the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials or restricted items, reinforcing CRC's commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and be willing and able to undertake any job-related travel normally associated with the role.

Employees at CRC benefit from a comprehensive benefits package tailored to support their health, financial security, and professional growth. This includes a generous state-paid benefit allowance to help cover insurance premiums, a broad selection of health insurance plans without pre-existing condition exclusions, flexible spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care expenses, employee assistance programs, and health and fitness initiatives. Additional perks include 11 paid holidays, a retirement savings plan with a generous company match, longevity bonuses for years of service, and opportunities for continuing education and training to meet professional licensure and certification requirements.

CRC prides itself on fostering a workplace that upholds equal opportunity principles, ensuring no discrimination based on genetic information, race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin, or disability. Reasonable accommodations are provided upon request to support individuals with disabilities.

Joining the Children's Recovery Center as a Housekeeping/Custodial Worker is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a dynamic healthcare environment dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable youth across Oklahoma. With competitive wages, a robust benefits package, and a mission-centered workplace culture, this position is ideal for individuals who value service, safety, and teamwork in their professional endeavors. Apply now to become part of a team that makes a tangible difference every day.
