Job Requirements

  • Successful completion of general and department specific orientation
  • ability to work day shift from 7AM to 3PM
  • physical stamina to perform cleaning duties
  • knowledge of hospital cleaning standards and procedures
  • ability to follow infection control policies
  • strong attention to detail
  • ability to maintain and clean equipment
  • good communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Successful completion of general and department specific orientation
  • previous hospital housekeeping experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs
  • assist in cleaning emergency spills observed or upon request
  • clean housekeeping closet and maintain par levels
  • collect and transport all waste including regulated medical waste according to policy
  • compact trash or place in containers
  • damp buff and shampoo carpets with approved equipment
  • dry and wet mop floors of rooms and offices
  • dust mop and wet mop corridors, stairwells and other common areas
  • empty waste receptacles and remove trash
  • maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and arrange repairs when needed
  • observe and report need to repair equipment, furniture, building and fixtures
  • perform patient discharge cleaning using 7-step cleaning procedure
  • refill paper towels, toilet paper, soap and toilet seat dispensers
  • ensure all patient rooms are Patient Ready at all times including tent cards, toilet seat bands and privacy curtains in every patient room
