The Housekeeper role at InTown Suites is essential to ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of guest rooms and hotel public areas. Those occupying this position will take charge of maintaining guest room cleanliness, including bathrooms, kitchen areas, floors, trash removal, and dusting or polishing furnishings. This role also extends to maintaining the exterior appearance of rooms by cleaning sliding doors, air conditioning grills, windows, and removing litter from surrounding areas. Housekeepers are responsible for inspecting various areas within the hotel to ensure compliance with company quality standards, regardless of specific room assignments. They must promptly report any safety or security incidents, or guest concerns, to supervisors. Operating housekeeping equipment and replenishing supplies are regular duties in this position, as well as notifying supervisors about room readiness. A key part of the role is delivering superior customer service during all interactions with guests, embodying the company’s commitment to guest satisfaction. This position requires physical stamina to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally, and the ability to perform various physical activities such as standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling as needed. The work environment consists primarily of indoor spaces with carpeted and hard floors, with some exposure to changing weather conditions when working outside. Job Requirements
- Minimum one year housekeeping experience
- Good knowledge of housekeeping and laundry standard procedures and techniques
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to stand for 8-hour shifts
- Willingness to work indoors on hard and carpeted surfaces and be exposed to extreme weather conditions occasionally
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year of housekeeping experience with good knowledge of housekeeping and laundry standard operating procedures and techniques
- High school diploma or equivalent education and experience
- Any combination of education, training, or experience providing required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Job Duties
- Maintain guest room cleanliness including cleaning bath and kitchen areas, cleaning floors by vacuuming or washing, removing trash from guest rooms, dusting and polishing guest room furnishings
- Maintain outside room appearance including cleaning sliding doors, A/C grills, doors, windows, and removing trash from surrounding outside areas
- Ensure all areas of the hotel meet company standards regardless of specific room assignments
- Visually inspect guest rooms, public areas, and service areas to ensure quality in cleanliness and presentation
- Notify supervisor of any safety or security violations and guest concerns immediately
- Operate housekeeping equipment and restock housekeeping cart supplies
- Notify head housekeeper or supervisor when rooms are ready
- Provide superior customer service when interacting with guests
