The current job opening is for a Housekeeper, an integral role within the InTown Suites team. This position involves maintaining the cleanliness and presentability of guest rooms and hotel common areas, ensuring the environment meets the company's high standards. Housekeepers are responsible for cleaning all bathroom and kitchen areas, managing floors through vacuuming or washing, and removing trash from guest rooms as well as surrounding exterior areas. Attention to detail is critical as the role includes dusting, polishing furnishings, and visually inspecting rooms and public spaces to guarantee cleanliness and guest readiness.

The Housekeeper position requires physical stamina as it involves lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds, standing for eight-hour shifts, and working indoors under varying conditions, including hard and carpeted surfaces. Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year housekeeping experience including knowledge of housekeeping and laundry procedures and techniques
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand for eight hour shifts
  • Ability to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally
  • Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Indoor work capability on hard and carpeted surfaces
  • Availability for flexible scheduling

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of housekeeping experience with knowledge of housekeeping and laundry standard operating procedures and techniques
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate housekeeping equipment safely

Job Duties

  • Maintain guest room cleanliness including cleaning all bath and kitchen areas, cleaning floors by vacuuming or washing, removing all trash from guest rooms, and dusting and polishing all guest room furnishings
  • Maintain outside room appearance including cleaning sliding doors, air conditioning grills, doors, windows, and removing trash from surrounding outside areas
  • Ensure all areas of the hotel meet company standards even if not specifically assigned
  • Visually inspect guest rooms, public areas, and service areas for quality in cleanliness and presentation
  • Notify supervisor immediately of any safety or security violations or guest concerns
  • Operate housekeeping equipment and restock housekeeping cart supplies
  • Notify head housekeeper or supervisor when rooms are ready
  • Maintain superior customer service when interacting with guests
