The Temecula KOA at Vail Lake Resort is a premier outdoor campground destination located in the scenic surroundings of Southern California. Nestled among a serene grove of oak trees, this year-round park offers visitors a unique camping experience enriched by proximity to the renowned Temecula wine country, picturesque Vail Lake, and an array of outdoor recreational opportunities including mountain biking, horseback riding, and hiking trails. As a highly regarded campground and resort, Temecula KOA at Vail Lake Resort is actively seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join its housekeeping hospitality team. This role is seasonal and part-time, starting in May, with work hours that may vary throughout the week from Sunday to Saturday. Scheduled shifts typically range between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m., mostly occurring between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., with an average of 10 to 25 hours per week depending on occupancy and position. Pay starts at $17 per hour and can increase based on experience.

The housekeeping position is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the resort’s facilities, ensuring that guests receive top-tier customer service consistent with the resort’s hospitality philosophy. Team members will perform a variety of duties, including daily cleaning of restrooms, janitorial tasks in common buildings, and the thorough preparation of deluxe cabins and tent accommodations for arriving guests. This includes stripping linens, washing dishes, cleaning all surfaces, making beds, vacuuming, replenishing consumables, and tidying outside areas. Additionally, housekeeping staff will be responsible for laundry tasks as needed and organization of housekeeping supplies. A keen eye for detail and commitment to creating a welcoming environment are critical to success in this role.

Beyond the physical maintenance duties, the role requires proactive guest management to ensure a positive environment for all visitors. Team members will coordinate closely with Guest Service and Front Desk staff for guest arrivals, problem resolution, and enforcement of campground policies. Effective communication using digital tools such as Teams is necessary to maintain smooth operations and respond promptly to guest needs. Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are highly valued.

Job Duties

  • Ensure customers receive a high level of service consistent with our customer service philosophy
  • Communicate with all staff and management using Teams
  • Enforce campground policies and implement solutions consistent with goals of park
  • Proactively manage guests to ensure a positive environment for all guests
  • Coordinate with Guest Service and Front Desk staff for guest arrivals
  • Coordinate with Guest Service and Front Desk staff for problem resolution when applicable
  • Utilize creative problem-solving skills
  • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of restroom facilities
  • Conduct janitorial duties on all campground buildings
  • Clean and prepare deluxe cabins and deluxe tents for guest arrivals, including stripping linens, washing dishes, cleaning all surfaces, making beds, vacuuming, replenishing consumables, tidying outside areas
  • Perform laundry for linens as needed
  • Organize all housekeeping supplies
  • Complete various duties as assigned by manager, including light janitorial duties, assisting other departments, overall support in daily campground performance
