Job Description

The Raising Cane's River Center, located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is a premier event and convention facility known for hosting a wide range of activities including concerts, conventions, trade shows, and community events. As a prominent hub for entertainment and business gatherings in the region, the facility prides itself on maintaining top-notch cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction to ensure a positive experience for all guests and event participants. The center takes a comprehensive approach to facility management, emphasizing both operational excellence and a welcoming atmosphere which reflects in every aspect of its service including its housekeeping standards.

The role of Housekeeping Supervisor at the Raising Cane's River Center is a full-time position tasked with overseeing the custodial operations across the entire facility. This pivotal role involves supervising a diverse team, including full-time employees, part-time workers, and third-party custodial staff engaged in maintaining the facility's cleanliness and appearance. The Housekeeping Supervisor will be instrumental in directing and coordinating housekeeping activities, ensuring that all cleaning, maintenance, and setup tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

The supervisor will play a key role in scheduling and operational planning, working closely with the events department and the Requisition Conversion team to plan the cleaning and upkeep schedules in accordance with the biweekly event calendar. Ensuring seamless communication across departments, this position helps guarantee that the venue is clean, safe, and ready before, during, and after events. Responsibilities include hands-on supervision and sometimes direct participation in cleaning duties such as buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and washing various surfaces and linens. The supervisor also inspects completed work to verify compliance with quality standards.

In addition to operational management, the Housekeeping Supervisor must maintain accurate records using systems like eTime for attendance and production data. Part of the role includes ensuring compliance with company safety policies and proper use of cleaning chemicals according to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). This position also involves administrative duties such as submitting maintenance requests, requisitioning necessary tools and supplies, and enforcing employee appearance and conduct standards.

The Housekeeping Supervisor is expected to demonstrate strong leadership skills, with the ability to organize and train staff effectively, enforce safety and company policies, and foster a professional and motivated work environment. The position requires flexibility to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the operational demands of an active event center. Proficiency in common office and management software including MS Windows suite and E-Time software is also essential for success in this role.

This position represents an excellent opportunity for a motivated supervisory professional with custodial experience to join a well-respected facility that values high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service. The Raising Cane's River Center encourages diversity and is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer, welcoming applications from women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and protected veterans. If you have a solid background in housekeeping supervision, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to quality, this full-time supervisor role in Baton Rouge may be a perfect fit to advance your career in the facility management field.
