We currently have an exciting career opportunity at our Tierra Verde Residence Inn, located in the beautiful St. Petersburg area. This 90-room hotel is known for its upscale accommodations and exceptional amenities, including over 875 square feet of versatile event space perfect for corporate gatherings and social functions. Guests visiting Tierra Verde Residence Inn can also enjoy Vista at the Top, our signature rooftop bar and restaurant that boasts incredible panoramic waterfront views, making it a favorite spot for both guests and locals.
The role we are looking to fill is a Housekeeping Supervisor position, which offers a chance to join a dynamic team within this vibrant hotel. This role is integral in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, service, and guest satisfaction are consistently met throughout the property. The Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee daily operations within the housekeeping department, making sure all procedures align with Shaner Hotels and franchise standards. A key focus of the position is managing and motivating the housekeeping team, ensuring training is completed and standards are upheld. The supervisor will be responsible for handling guest complaints with professionalism, ensuring guests’ needs are promptly addressed to maintain an exceptional level of satisfaction.
This position requires flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, to effectively lead the team during all operating hours. The supervisor will be expected to anticipate business needs, plan ahead to manage high occupancy or critical situations efficiently, and assist staff with their duties as needed. Additionally, this person will monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in assigned areas, sometimes stepping in to perform housekeeping, laundry, or houseperson duties during busy periods.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in housekeeping within the hospitality industry, with supervisory experience considered a distinct advantage. Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively liaise with guests, management, and co-workers. A knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and equipment use is essential to maintain safety and quality standards. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish are beneficial but not required. Job Duties
- Be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends holidays and varied shifts
- Ensure compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Housekeeping Department
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all Shaner Hotels franchise and hoteldepartmental policies and procedures ensuring that housekeeping team is informed as well
- Handle guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction
- Train and develop team members and ensure all required training is complete according to standards
- Review the daily business levels anticipate critical situations and plan effective solutions to best expedite these situations
- Assist staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness sanitation and organization of assigned areas
- Perform housekeeping laundry and houseperson functions whenever necessary
- Other duties as assigned
