The Housekeeping Supervisor role at Courtyard by Marriott Tallahassee Downtown/Capitol is a full-time, non-management position offering a competitive hourly wage of 19 dollars. This role requires weekends and holidays availability, highlighting the importance of flexibility in service delivery. As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will play a critical role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Your primary responsibility will be to inspect guest rooms, public areas, and the pool after these have been cleaned by housekeeping staff, ensuring that set quality standards are met without compromise. You are also expected to manage room status by running sold room reports, verifying the status of rooms, identifying rooms that require attention, and prioritizing cleaning schedules accordingly. Effective communication and coordination are key aspects of this position, as you will liaise with Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain smooth operations.
In addition to operational duties, the Housekeeping Supervisor assists management with the hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, and motivation of the housekeeping team. You will be responsible for fostering a positive and productive work environment, providing coaching and discipline as needed, and reinforcing safety and security policies. Attention to detail is paramount as you are required to document and resolve issues with rooms, communicate necessary changes in room assignments, and ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and timely.
This role demands physical stamina and dexterity, including the ability to lift and move objects up to 55 pounds and operate housekeeping equipment over various surfaces. Moreover, a professional appearance and demeanor are mandatory, along with confidentiality regarding proprietary information and protection of company assets. The ideal candidate will possess one year of related work experience and at least one year of supervisory experience. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred but not mandatory. While no specific licenses or certifications are needed, a commitment to ongoing safety training and certification completion is required.
Joining Courtyard by Marriott Tallahassee means becoming part of a passionate team dedicated to exceeding guest expectations while embracing a collaborative and supportive work culture. Here, you will have opportunities to develop your career, enhance your skills, and contribute to a brand recognized for its innovation and service excellence.
