As part of Marriott International, a leading global hospitality company, Courtyard offers a welcoming and professional environment for guests and associates alike. Marriott International is renowned for its commitment to diversity, equal opportunity, and creating an inclusive workplace where employees from various backgrounds, talents, and experiences thrive together. With a rich history of innovation, Courtyard was designed specifically for business travelers and continues to empower guests by providing exceptional experiences whether they are visiting for business or leisure. At Courtyard by Marriott Tallahassee, associates are part of a greater global network of brands representing the Marriott family, which means employees have opportunities to develop their careers in a dynamic industry with extensive resources and training.

The Housekeeping Supervisor role at Courtyard by Marriott Tallahassee is a full-time, non-management position that offers an hourly wage of $19.00. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the hotel's standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for inspecting guest rooms, public areas, and amenities such as the pool after they have been cleaned by housekeeping staff to ensure compliance with quality standards. This position involves preparing reports related to room availability, monitoring room status, prioritizing cleaning schedules, and updating records for guest departures. Moreover, the Housekeeping Supervisor assists daily with managing the cleaning department's operations, coordinating efforts between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Desk, and Laundry departments to resolve any discrepancies or operational challenges.

The role also includes administrative duties such as preparing, distributing, and communicating updates on work assignments and ensuring smooth hand-offs between shifts by relaying pertinent information. Supervisory responsibilities involve aiding management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, counseling, discipline, motivation, and staff development. The position emphasizes adherence to company safety policies, maintenance reporting, accident prevention, and ensuring the professional appearance of all team members. Employees are expected to maintain confidentiality, protect company property, support colleagues respectfully, work collaboratively to meet goals, and maintain high-quality assurance standards.

Physical activities are a significant component of this role; candidates must be able to move quickly and respond appropriately to various work situations, inspect equipment and tools for flaws, and operate computer systems for job-related tasks. Physical requirements include frequent use of hand-eye coordination, reaching above head or under knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and moving in confined spaces. Handling and lifting objects weighing up to 55 pounds independently, with assistance for heavier loads, is required. The role also requires the ability to navigate uneven, inclined, or slippery surfaces and to stand, sit, kneel, or walk for extended periods during a full shift. Effective communication skills are essential, including the ability to listen and respond to coworkers’ concerns and speak clearly and professionally. Employees should be flexible to perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or a GED certificate and at least one year of related work experience, preferably including supervisory experience. While no previous supervisory experience is mandatory, it is preferred. Courtyard by Marriott values employees who are passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences, eager to learn continuously, and motivated to contribute to a small but ambitious team while enjoying their work environment. By joining Courtyard, employees become part of a large global family of Marriott International brands, where they can perform their best work, pursue their purpose, be part of an exceptional global team, and grow into their best versions.
