In addition to enforcing cleaning protocols and procedures, the Housekeeping Supervisor is expected to handle personnel management duties such as coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations, contributing to a positive work environment and reduced turnover rates. The supervisor also plays a key role in managing the housekeeping budget, tracking overtime, and collaborating closely with other departments like Front Office, Engineering, and Food & Beverage to ensure smooth operational flow.

The position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Weekly inspections with management are mandatory, as well as documented reports that inform continuous improvement efforts. The supervisor must be proactive in maintaining safety standards, equipment upkeep, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The work schedule may occasionally require night shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, demonstrating the need for flexibility.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Vehicle insurance
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Able to work third shift from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM when necessary

Job Qualifications

  • No educational requirement
  • Housekeeping and supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
  • Ability to communicate professionally with other departments, guests, and vendors
  • Ability to diplomatically handle difficult situations and people
  • Facility maintenance and housekeeping skills
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling and safety procedures
  • Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and email
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
  • Able to work with little or no supervision and effectively supervise others
  • Operate commercial washer, dryer, magnetic card door-lock system, vacuum, and computer
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Conduct weekly documented inspections of guestrooms, public areas and support facilities with DOS and housekeeping manager
  • Implement and maintain controls and procedures to achieve highest cleanliness and maintenance standards
  • Organize and lead communications such as weekly RAP sessions, supervisors meetings, and monthly department meetings
  • Train associates on proper usage and handling of cleaning equipment and chemicals
  • Manage daily operations of housekeeping department
  • Administer a work order program ensuring proper documentation and follow-up
  • Build and maintain an Associate Relations Program including morning meetings, incentive programs and recognition systems
