The Housekeeping Supervisor role at the Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center is a vital position that supports the operational excellence of the property. This role primarily involves inspecting guest rooms and public areas to ensure they meet the high cleanliness standards expected of Pyramid Global Hospitality properties. The supervisor plays a key role in training and onboarding new housekeeping team members, orchestrating daily assignments, and maintaining organized workflows by creating and managing work boards. Staff supervision, performance evaluation, and ensuring proper staffing levels are fundamental duties to uphold the quality assurance standards.
This full-time role requires flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends, and readiness to work during major campus events like football game days and graduations. The compensation ranges from $18.00 to $19.00 per hour, with biweekly pay periods, making it a competitive opportunity within the local market. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 months experience in housekeeping or related field preferred
- Ability to work on feet for extended periods
- Availability to work varied shifts including weekends and special events
- Strong communication skills
- Physical ability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds
- Attention to detail and cleanliness standards
- Ability to supervise and train staff
Job Qualifications
- 6 months experience in a similar housekeeping position desirable
- Engaging and caring personality
- Time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions
- Ability to move, traverse, position self to reach corners on floors and high places
- Observe conditions, detect odors, position and navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs in tight spaces
- Operate equipment including spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads and dusters
- Lift, carry and position loads of at least 25lbs
Job Duties
- Oversee the performance and cleaning standards of housekeeping department
- Assist and supervise staff
- Complete morning assignments for housekeepers and housemen
- Prioritize and direct the work of staff
- Responsible for the training of team members
- Update room statuses throughout the day on the hotel computer system if needed
- Responsible for the care and cleanliness of all areas of responsibility
- Evaluate performance of staff
- Report deficiencies and maintenance issues
- Maintain schedule of all weekly and monthly special projects
- Remain alert, courteous and helpful to guests and co-workers at all times
- Assist all other departments as needed to ensure the success of the overall operation of the property
- Any other reasonable tasks as assigned
