The role of Housekeeping Staff at Baton Rouge Healthcare Center Community Care Center is pivotal in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for residents and staff alike. The position involves a hands-on approach to a variety of cleaning and laundry duties that support the overall well-being and comfort of the residents. As a member of this healthcare setting, the Housekeeping Staff will be entrusted with tasks that uphold hygiene standards, which are essential in preventing infection and ensuring the comfort of those under the center’s care. The candidate will be expected to handle, wash, dry, fold, and promptly return resident laundry and linens while ensuring proper labeling and identification of personal clothing. Additional responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting lavatories, beds, chairs, and equipment, as well as sweeping and mopping resident rooms and other assigned areas.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months of previous experience in environmental services preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning devices and washer/dryer equipment
  • Has not been excluded from participating in Medicare and Medicaid programs
  • Maintains eligibility to participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs throughout employment
  • Participate in pre-employment and annual Tuberculosis screening

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months of previous experience in environmental services is preferred
  • Knowledge of and use of cleaning devices and washer/dryer equipment
  • Ability to follow healthcare sanitation and safety protocols

Job Duties

  • Handle, wash, dry and fold resident laundry and linens and return promptly to owner
  • Ensure that resident personal clothing is properly identified and labeled
  • Clean and disinfect dirty lavatories, beds, chairs, and equipment
  • Sweep and mop resident rooms
  • Clean all assigned rooms
