The Housekeeping Staff position at Avondale Villa Post-Acute plays a critical role in sustaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall pleasant ambiance that residents, visitors, and staff expect. This position is crucial in supporting the health of the community by preventing the spread of infection and ensuring that all environments—resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, hallways, and facility grounds—are meticulously maintained to the highest standards of hygiene. The housekeeping team uses approved cleaning agents and equipment to perform their duties daily and safeguards waste disposal practices compliant with health and safety regulations.
Housekeeping staff members are expected to be vigilant in reporting any maintenance issues, hazards, or supply shortages promptly to supervisors. They adhere strictly to infection control protocols to minimize contamination risks and collaborate closely with nursing and administrative teams to address urgent or special cleaning requests efficiently. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial services, preferably in a healthcare or residential care setting
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment safety
- Familiarity with infection control standards and healthcare sanitation protocols
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents and team members
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitization of resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment
- Ensure proper disposal of waste and maintain cleanliness of waste collection points in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the housekeeping supervisor promptly
- Follow infection control procedures rigorously to minimize the risk of contamination and maintain a safe environment for residents and staff
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring and restocking cleaning supplies and equipment as needed
- Collaborate with nursing and administrative staff to accommodate special cleaning requests or urgent needs
- Adhere to all facility policies, including confidentiality, safety protocols, and emergency procedures
