This role is vital in ensuring that every guest room meets our stringent cleanliness standards and that our guests enjoy a flawless stay from the moment they arrive.

The Housekeeping Room Inspector position plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and orderliness within guest rooms. This role involves inspecting rooms for cleanliness, ensuring compliance with established standards, and providing additional cleaning services when necessary. The inspector also acts as a liaison between guests and the housekeeping team, responding promptly and professionally to guest requests to enhance their experience. A strong knowledge of our Property Management System (PMS) is essential, as inspectors are responsible for updating room statuses and coordinating with other departments such as Engineering for maintenance and repairs. The position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and excellent communication skills to effectively manage multiple tasks responsibly. In addition, the Housekeeping Room Inspector assists with inventory management, lost and found coordination, and supports the Executive Housekeeper in various operational activities. Job Requirements

  • Availability on weekends and holidays
  • Effective communication skills to interact with managers, coworkers, vendors and guests
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift and walk for extended periods
  • Capacity to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Willingness to learn and use PMS system
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or room inspection preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate Property Management Systems (PMS) or willingness to learn
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and materials safety data sheets (MSDS)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good organizational skills
  • Physically able to perform duties requiring bending, stooping, lifting, and walking
  • Customer service oriented

Job Duties

  • Respond quickly to all guest requests in a caring, friendly and professional manner
  • Maintain a high degree of cleanliness for all guest rooms as measured through guest satisfaction surveys
  • Become knowledgeable in our PMS system to change room statuses as necessary
  • Ensure all guest rooms are cleaned per established cleanliness guidelines
  • Restock and organize all work areas as necessary
  • Open the housekeeping department by assigning rooms, handing out daily room worksheets, and distributing keycards
  • Fully inspect guest rooms to ensure cleanliness standards are met
  • Close the housekeeping department by collecting daily room worksheets, room keys and entering updated room status data in the PMS
  • Fully clean guest rooms to housekeeping standards when necessary
  • Assist the Executive Housekeeper with monthly inventories of housekeeping supplies, linen, and equipment
  • Coordinate with Engineering to implement maintenance and repair of guest rooms
  • Manage the lost and found, ensuring proper records and handling of guest inquiries
  • Maintain knowledge of all MSDS materials
  • Assist the Executive Housekeeper in all aspects of the housekeeping department as requested
  • Perform other duties as required
