Job Description
Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa, is a renowned destination that blends the magic of Disney with the beauty of Hawaiian culture and hospitality. Located in the breathtaking surroundings of Hawaii, Aulani offers guests a unique experience that combines luxury accommodations, world-class amenities, and a deeply immersive cultural environment. As part of the Disney family, the resort places a strong emphasis on guest satisfaction and creating memorable experiences, making it a sought-after workplace for individuals who are passionate about hospitality and dedicated to delivering exceptional service. With the resort operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, Aulani maintains a dynamic and vibrant environment where teamwork, professionalism, and a proactive attitude are essential to success. The housekeeper role at Aulani is an integral part of maintaining the resort’s high standards and ensuring that every guest enjoys a clean, comfortable, and welcoming stay. This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $32.95 and encompasses numerous perks and benefits to support employees’ well-being and professional growth. These benefits include 100% full coverage of healthcare for eligible dependents (for full-time employees), tuition paid upfront at network schools, free lunch, free parking, and complimentary theme park admission among other advantages. The housekeeper position can be either part-time or full-time, with part-time employees required to have availability for at least three full days per week including weekends, and full-time employees needing full availability seven days a week. The role demands flexibility, adaptability, and a strong work ethic. Housekeepers at Aulani are responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms across approximately 14 units daily. The responsibilities include cleaning full kitchen areas, bathrooms, balconies, bedrooms, closets, furniture, windows, and art décor, as well as placing special amenities and collateral in rooms, changing linens, and generally ensuring the upkeep and presentation of guest accommodations is impeccable. This job is not just about cleaning; it is about contributing to a home-away-from-home experience that enhances every guest's visit. Housekeepers are expected to use personal protective equipment and specialized cleaning tools and products, perform deep cleaning on designated days, and complete nightly turndown duties for VIP and other specified guests. The role requires self-direction as employees typically work alone within guest rooms and must maintain quality while managing repeated tasks in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic about guest interaction, proactive in communicating issues, adaptable to changing work conditions, and genuinely enjoy cleanliness and orderliness. Prior housekeeping or related cleaning experience and knowledge of Hawaiian or Japanese languages are considered advantageous but not mandatory. Joining the team at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa, offers a chance to be part of a magical environment where care for guests and employees alike is paramount, with ample opportunities for personal and professional development within one of the most iconic entertainment and hospitality companies in the world.
