We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Housekeeper/Room Attendant to join our housekeeping team. This position is integral to preserving the cleanliness and comfort of our guestrooms, adhering strictly to brand specifications and quality standards. The Housekeeper/Room Attendant will be responsible for thoroughly cleaning assigned guestrooms, maintaining inventory accuracy for items placed within the rooms, and communicating room status effectively with the Housekeeping Supervisor. The role also requires the reporting of any lost and found items, damages, or unusual circumstances promptly to ensure swift resolution and guest satisfaction. In addition to cleaning duties, the Housekeeper/Room Attendant will be involved in stocking carts, assisting with laundry tasks such as washing, drying, and folding linens, and adhering to safety protocols when handling cleaning agents and equipment. This position demands strong physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, climbing stairs, and standing for extended periods.
Beyond the operational responsibilities, this role requires excellent communication skills to interact courteously with guests and team members, fostering a positive and cooperative work atmosphere. Compliance with grooming and dress code standards, punctuality, and participation in hotel emergency procedures are also critical components of the position. Previous housekeeping experience is preferred but not mandatory for dedicated candidates willing to learn and grow within our team. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds
- Knowledge of cleaning agents and safe handling procedures
Job Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Basic communication skills
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
Job Duties
- Thoroughly cleans all assigned rooms within prescribed brand standard guidelines
- Maintains the inventory of every item placed in guestrooms
- Communicates status of cleaned rooms to Housekeeping Supervisor
- Reports any lost and found items to the Housekeeping Supervisor immediately, listing the room number or area where the item was found
- Reports any damaged or missing items to Maintenance and the Housekeeping Supervisor
- Reports exceptional and/or unusual circumstances such as no luggage in a stay-over room, sleep-outs, damage in the rooms to the Housekeeping Supervisor
- Stocks carts and supply rooms
- Assists with washing, drying and folding terry and linen as needed
