Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in housekeeping or custodial roles preferred
  • Ability to perform extensive physical activities including standing, walking, lifting up to 150 pounds, bending, stooping throughout the shift
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Basic proficiency in English
  • Must maintain personal grooming and uniform standards
  • Must have good interpersonal and guest service skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and hotel policies
  • Commitment to safety and teamwork

Job Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience an asset
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Basic English language skills
  • Customer-service oriented with excellent hospitality skills
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to follow safety standards and procedures
  • Good communication skills for radio use and guest interaction

Job Duties

  • Report to work as scheduled in proper uniform
  • Maintain a friendly positive attitude ensuring positive guest experience
  • Follow all policies and procedures set by housekeeping
  • Communicate properly using radio etiquette
  • Respond and close requests using radio communication
  • Assist room attendants by emptying trash and soiled linen
  • Maintain cleanliness of public restrooms, lobby, elevators, stairwells, ice machine areas, and hallways
  • Handle guests with excellent guest relations skills
  • Clean back-of-house windows as needed
  • Vacuum guest hallways daily
  • Use proper cleaning chemicals according to procedures
  • Attend all departmental meetings as scheduled
  • Perform duties efficiently and timely
  • Maintain and organize linen closets
  • Bring trash to compactor at the end of the day
  • Wash guest room glassware and deliver to linen closets
  • Bring dirty glassware to housekeeping at end of shift
  • Perform other duties consistent with company policies
  • Notify supervisors promptly of problems or unusual matters
  • Be polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, and team members
  • Attend all hotel meetings and training sessions
  • Maintain cleanliness and good condition of equipment and work area
  • Execute emergency procedures per hotel standards
  • Comply with safety regulations and hotel policies
  • Recycle whenever possible
  • Stay current with hotel information and changes
  • Promote and apply teamwork skills
  • Adhere to uniform and grooming standards
