The role of Houseperson at Thompson Hotels is essential to maintaining the overall cleanliness and presentation of the property, contributing significantly to the guest experience. The Houseperson is primarily responsible for keeping guest hallways, elevator landings, service landings, and linen closets clean, organized, and well-stocked. This role requires a candidate with physical stamina to consistently lift, push, and pull heavy loads while moving furniture and handling guest requests in a timely manner. Excellent communication skills are a must, enabling effective interactions with both guests and hotel staff. A successful Houseperson at Thompson Hotels will demonstrate a keen sense of urgency, reliability, and a proactive attitude in supporting the housekeeping department and ensuring all common areas and service points meet the hotel’s high standards of cleanliness. Job Duties
- Keeps the service landings clean and organized
- removes trays from the guest floors
- keeps corridors on guest room floors clean
- maintain cleanliness of stairwells
- baseboards and pictures in guest corridors must be dusted daily
- all guest room doors must be free of scuff marks
- keeps ice machine room clean
- keep guest elevator landings clean
- moves furniture upon request
- completes guest requests
- have a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
- ensure hotel guests and associates are maintained in a safe and secure environment
- ensures that assigned service landing closets are stocked at proper linen and supply par levels
- empties guest room linens on an hourly basis or as needed
- empties guest room garbage on an hourly basis or as needed
- communicate with guest room and assist them with stripping guest rooms
- all other duties as assigned by leadership
