Job Description

Sandpiper Hospitality (SH) is a rapidly expanding company specializing in the extended stay lodging market. Known for its commitment to providing high-quality accommodations paired with exceptional customer service, SH has established itself as a prominent player among hospitality providers. The company's dedication to growth, employee development, and maintaining brand standards makes it an attractive workplace for professionals seeking to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment. As one of the fastest-growing companies in the extended stay market, Sandpiper Hospitality offers its employees not only stable employment but also opportunities for career advancement within the hospitality industry.

The Houseperson role at Sandpiper Hospitality is essential for the smooth operation and upkeep of the property. This position is a hybrid role, blending light maintenance with core housekeeping responsibilities to keep the facility in impeccable condition both inside and out. The Houseperson is responsible for executing preventive maintenance tasks, handling minor repairs, preparing guest rooms after move-outs, and maintaining public areas according to the company’s stringent brand standards. The role requires physical agility, technical skill in handling maintenance tools, and a keen eye for detail to ensure that every aspect of the property meets guest and company expectations.

As a Property Upkeep Specialist, you will engage in a variety of tasks ranging from plumbing, electrical repairs, and painting to janitorial duties and parking lot upkeep. This position supports overall guest satisfaction by ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving light maintenance issues, inspecting rooms for pest and maintenance concerns, treating soiled linens, and staging guest rooms to optimize cleaning workflows. Beyond maintenance and housekeeping, you will also assist in laundry operations and cross-train in roles like Move-Out Attendant and Stay-Over Attendant to provide comprehensive support to the housekeeping team.

The Houseperson role demands not only practical skills but also a proactive mindset. You will be expected to respond to emergency situations promptly and professionally, clocking in and out as required during these events, which are integral to maintaining continuous service quality. Your ability to operate cleaning and maintenance equipment safely and efficiently will contribute significantly to the overall guest experience. Communication skills and the ability to follow written protocols closely are crucial, as is your ability to adapt to changing demands throughout your shift.

If you are someone who enjoys working hands-on with a mix of technical and housekeeping duties, who values a safe work environment, and who is motivated to contribute directly to guest satisfaction and company success, the Houseperson position at Sandpiper Hospitality offers an ideal career opportunity. This role not only provides valuable experience in property maintenance and hospitality but also encourages growth, teamwork, and a service-oriented attitude, aligning perfectly with the company’s values, including the core principle to "Bring the Energy." By joining Sandpiper Hospitality, you become part of a forward-thinking team devoted to creating exceptional extended stay experiences for all guests.
