Job Requirements

  • One year experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hotel, resort or conference center
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to maintain sanitation standards while adhering to OSHA and local health regulations
  • Must be able to work the majority of the shift standing, constantly moving, and able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work any shift including weekends and holidays when needed
  • Strong guest service skills
  • Must have attention to detail and be customer service oriented
  • Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in hotel housekeeping or similar hospitality role
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Good physical stamina and capability to perform manual tasks
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
  • Customer service orientation and teamwork skills
  • Valid driver’s license if shuttle driving duties required

Job Duties

  • Maintain a clean work area at all times while ensuring superior and spotless guest service
  • Deliver items to guest rooms such as towels, extra pillows, and supplies
  • Respond to guest requests in a timely and courteous manner
  • Obtain soiled linens from guest carts and bring them to laundry
  • Deliver clean linens to storage rooms as needed
  • Assist Room Attendants with stripping guests rooms occasionally
  • Collect garbage from Room Attendant carts and adhere to recycling practices
  • Assist with breakfast including wiping tables and emptying garbage
  • Assist in unloading deliveries and proper storage
  • Plunge guest toilets and public area toilets as needed
  • Repair or fix maintenance items within scope such as cleaning light fixtures and replacing bulbs
  • Report guest-borrowed items for safe return
  • Prepare utility cart for next day use
  • Report maintenance problems to Engineering Department
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order before use
  • Report and deliver lost & found items to appropriate office
  • Clean guest laundry washer and dryer, tables, and mop floors as needed
  • Help with excessive laundry when required
  • Drive guests to and from hotel if shuttle service is available
  • Communicate changes in suite status with Front Desk
  • Know hotel emergency procedures and keep emergency exits clear
  • Accommodate guest special requests including luggage and wheelchair assistance
  • Work in a team environment supporting all members to ensure great guest stay experience
  • Perform other duties as assigned
