Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- one-year experience in a general housekeeping environment preferred
- ability to follow instructions
- ability to work under minimal supervision
- ability to communicate in English preferred
- physical ability to perform cleaning tasks
- willingness to wear protective clothing when required
- punctuality and reliability
- completion of training sessions
- adherence to hospital dress code

Job Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent preferred
- knowledge of methods, materials and techniques related to effective cleaning, sanitation, and maintaining the aesthetic condition of the facility
- knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- ability to work efficiently under emergency situations
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- ability to learn and perform essential job functions with minimal supervision
- ability to communicate with hospital staff in English preferred
- ability to speak Spanish is a plus
Job Duties
- Sets up carts with all supplies and equipment according to specifications
- changes curtains and cubicle curtains as assigned
- cleans stairwells, elevators, and baseboards
- cleans water fountains
- cleans restrooms and replenishes essentials
- cleans working equipment
- collects and disposes of trash including from hospital garage, grounds, and parking areas
- damp-wipes furniture and fixtures with germicidal solution
- dust mops floors
- high-dusts vents, cabinets, and other furnishings
- locks doors after completion of work
- prepares chemicals and germicidal solutions according to label instructions
- moves equipment and furniture for relocation and cleaning
- operates electric floor and carpet machines and sweepers
- picks up necessary supplies
- scrubs, strips, polishes, and spray-buffs floors
- shampoos furniture, carpets, and rugs
- strips and refinishes floors
- takes soiled mops to central linen room
- washes walls, windows, furniture, IV stands, and wheelchairs
- wet-mops floors with germicidal solution
- wears protective clothing in designated areas
- observes all safety standards
- attends training sessions
- instructs and trains employees on new equipment and methods
- performs tasks during emergencies
- is consistently punctual
- performs additional hospital duties
- maintains appearance and dress code
- responds to requests from patients, physicians, and visitors courteously
- promotes positive customer service using AIDET
- other duties as assigned
