We are currently seeking a Housekeeping Environmental Services (EVS) Associate for our Phoenix location to join our dedicated facilities team. This full-time night shift position involves 40 hours per week, typically from 11 PM to 7:30 AM, with weekend and holiday rotations required. Employees in this role receive a $1000 hire-on incentive upon eligibility, plus a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential when applicable. As a Housekeeping EVS Associate at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, you will be instrumental in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

The role requires hardworking individuals dedicated to the upkeep, cleaning, and sanitization of the hospital environment, including patient rooms, specialty units, and common areas. You will use a variety of cleaning tools and perform tasks such as dusting, mopping, disinfecting, vacuuming, and waste removal, including safe handling of medical waste and sharps. The job is physically demanding and fast-paced, involving extensive walking and pushing of cleaning carts. Associates may be tasked with cleaning sensitive areas like morgues and infectious disease units, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and effective communication with medical staff and team members.

Successful candidates must complete onboarding promptly and comply with Banner Health policies, including receiving the annual flu vaccine. A thorough background check and drug screen are prerequisites. Job Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and by phone
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety data sheets and chemical mixing instructions
  • Willingness to undergo background check and drug screening
  • Must complete onboarding timely
  • Required to receive annual flu vaccine or obtain exemption
  • Capable of performing physically demanding tasks including extended walking and pushing carts

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
  • Effective verbal and phone communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions on the use of cleaning chemicals
  • Previous related experience preferred
  • Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
  • Additional related education or experience is a plus

Job Duties

  • Performs a variety of assigned cleaning tasks including dusting mopping scrubbing disinfecting vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policies and procedures
  • Empties hampers and transports soiled linen and removes all trash including medical waste and sharps
  • Inventories restocks and replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue paper towels and hand soap in all assigned areas
  • Maintains cleanliness of departmental equipment reports repair needs and logs equipment usage
  • Performs special projects like window washing wall washing and removing heavily soiled items or furnishings
  • Responds to questions and requests from patients staff and visitors ensuring high customer service satisfaction
  • Works under regular supervision responsible for assigned facility or area only
