Job Description

Banner Health is a leading healthcare organization committed to providing exceptional patient care and fostering a positive work environment. Recognized as a certified Great Place To Work, Banner Health emphasizes the well-being and growth of its team members, making it an ideal employer for those seeking a fulfilling and dynamic career in healthcare. Banner Gateway Medical Center, located in Gilbert, Arizona, is a state-of-the-art hospital facility offering a broad range of medical services including oncology, obstetrics, bariatric surgery, emergency care, and neonatal intensive care. The hospital features 286 private rooms, 13 operating suites, and a 46-bed emergency department. It is also home to the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, renowned for world-class oncology care and innovative treatment options. The hospital is equipped with advanced medical technology such as comprehensive electronic medical records, physician order entry systems, digital radiography, and proprietary patient monitoring, ensuring the highest standard of care for patients.

The role of a Housekeeping Environmental Services (EVS) Associate at Banner Gateway Medical Center is vital to maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting hospital environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This full-time night shift position focuses on the thorough cleaning, sanitizing, and upkeep of patient rooms and various hospital areas, supporting the overall health and safety standards of the facility. Housekeeping associates play an essential role in infection control by managing the cleanliness of patient care areas, including specialty units such as COVID-19 wards and potentially the hospital morgue. The job demands physical stamina due to extensive walking and the operation of cleaning equipment and carts. Housekeepers work with various cleaning chemicals to handle biohazardous waste safely and adhere to stringent protocols. Effective communication with medical staff and other team members is crucial to address cleaning priorities and respond to specific area needs.

This position includes weekend and holiday rotations and offers competitive benefits such as a $1000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, a flat rate weekend shift differential, and an 18% night shift pay increase. Banner Gateway Medical Center supports professional development, providing opportunities for growth within the environmental services department and the broader healthcare system. Team members must complete onboarding promptly and comply with mandatory annual flu vaccinations to maintain employment. Selection involves a background check and drug screening to ensure a safe workplace. If you are dedicated, detail-oriented, and committed to contributing positively to patient care through facility cleanliness, this role offers an opportunity to become part of a respected healthcare team in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
