The role being offered is for a Housekeeping Environmental Services (EVS) Associate at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. This full-time position involves working night shifts from 11 PM to 7:30 AM, including weekend and holiday rotations, with additional financial incentives such as a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18% night shift differential when applicable. The position includes a $1000 sign-on bonus, subject to eligibility criteria provided by the recruiter.
As an EVS Associate, you will play an integral role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the hospital environment. The duties will include cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining patient rooms and other assigned areas, ensuring a hygienic and aesthetically pleasing environment that supports the health and morale of patients, visitors, and staff. The role demands the ability to efficiently manage physically demanding tasks such as walking extensively and pushing cleaning carts. It may require cleaning specialized areas including the morgue and COVID-19 units, and handling cleaning chemicals and biohazardous materials such as blood and bodily fluids with appropriate safety protocols.
The job environment is fast-paced and requires excellent communication skills to coordinate with medical staff and team members effectively. Candidates should be prepared for new challenges and willing to comply with mandatory onboarding requirements, including a background check, drug screening, and annual flu vaccination as part of Banner Health's health and safety policies. Although prior experience in a healthcare or institutional setting is not mandatory, it is preferred. This position represents a crucial element of the Banner Health team, contributing directly to patient care quality by ensuring a clean and safe hospital environment.
