Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- moderate physical effort required including moving furniture and using hand or lightweight powered cleaning equipment
- ability to perform cleaning duties thoroughly
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and guests
- willingness to obtain required certifications
- ability to adhere to safety protocols
- may require valid state driver’s license
- ability to handle inventory and lost and found reporting
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Cleans guest rooms and other assigned areas
- operates cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, waxer, and polisher
- empties wastebaskets, dusts, waxes, and polishes room furniture
- washes walls, partitions, air vents, disinfects and deodorizes toilet bowls, lavatories
- washes and replaces window treatments and cleans ceiling fixtures
- changes light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds
- moves furniture to clean under and behind
- uses step stool to clean window and window treatments, cabinet tops, mirrors, and picture frames
- cleans bathroom areas including tub, tile, walls, commode, floors, and vanity
- cleans kitchen area including stoves, ovens, microwave, refrigerator, cabinets, and floor
- washes and disinfects dishes, utensils, and cookware
- cleans iron and ironing board and replaces cover as necessary
- cleans and ensures proper functionality of luggage racks and ensures proper number of male female hangers are available in closets
- ensures TVs are clean and programmed to proper channel and volume, alarm clocks properly programmed with backup battery, and in-room phones are clean, properly programmed, and in working condition
- places proper number of amenities in room to include consumables and non-consumables
- removes and replaces bed linen, inspects mattresses and pull-out sofas
- moves and repositions beds upon guest checkout weekly or at guests request
- greets and welcomes guests, maintaining outstanding guest relations
- ensures privacy and security of guests at all times
- cleans, vacuums, and mops corridors, stairways, guest laundry, patios, and balconies
- shampoos rugs, carpets, and polishes rails of stairways regularly
- completes scheduled carpet cleaning using industrial equipment
- performs deep cleaning as required such as defrosting refrigerators, cleaning windows inside and out, spot treatment of carpets, cleaning walls
- maintains cleanliness and order of storage rooms
- communicates status of cleaned rooms and spaces to supervisor
- accomplishes minor repairs and reports major repair needs
- cleans and inspects exterior spaces like parking lots and outside passageways
- may load and unload trucks and vans
- assists with receipt and storage of supplies
- uses common hand tools for various tasks
- responsible for pass keys and other keys assigned, returning them at end of shift
- immediately reports unusual circumstances such as no luggage, no service needed room status, extra guests, unauthorized pets
- reports lost and found items
- may set up and clean up self-service breakfast bar, assist with food preparation and replenishment
- obtains food handling certification
- completes safety and security training
- maintains a clean and safe environment applying blood-borne pathogens safety measures
- performs laundry operations
- may require valid state driver’s license to travel
- may require NHG housekeeping certification
- performs other related duties as assigned
