Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Physical ability to perform moderate physical effort moving furniture and using cleaning equipment
  • Willingness to obtain required housekeeping certifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and supervisors
  • Capability to perform cleaning duties including operating equipment
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Adherence to safety and security protocols
  • Availability to travel to other lodging facilities if required
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete assigned tasks in timely manner

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • No prior experience required
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety protocols
  • Ability to perform moderate physical effort
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and guest service skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain cleanliness standards
  • Basic mechanical skills for minor repairs
  • Food handling certification (if assisting with breakfast service)
  • Willingness to obtain NHG housekeeping certification within 6 months of employment

Job Duties

  • Cleans guest rooms and other assigned areas
  • Operates cleaning equipment e.g. vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, waxer, and polisher
  • Empties wastebaskets, dusts, waxes, and polishes room furniture
  • Washes walls, partitions, air vents, disinfects and deodorizes toilet bowls, lavatories, etc.
  • Changes light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds
  • Moves furniture to clean under and behind
  • Cleans bathroom and kitchen areas
  • Cleans and ensures proper functionality of luggage racks and amenities
  • Greets and welcomes guests maintaining outstanding guest relations
  • Ensures privacy and security of guests
  • Cleans corridors, stairways, guest laundry, patios, and balconies
  • Performs scheduled carpet cleaning and deep cleaning tasks
  • Maintains cleanliness and order of storage rooms
  • Communicates status of cleaned rooms to supervisor
  • Performs minor equipment repairs and reports major repair needs
  • Cleans and inspects exterior spaces
  • Manages loading/unloading supplies and uses hand tools
  • Responsible for pass key security and key return
  • Reports unusual circumstances and lost and found items
  • Sets up and cleans breakfast bar, replenishes breakfast items, and obtains food handling certification
  • Completes all safety security training
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment following NHG protocols
  • Performs laundry operations
  • May travel to other lodging facilities
  • Obtains required housekeeping certifications
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
