The position of EVS (Environmental Services) Associate I at Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment throughout the facility. This position involves responsibilities such as cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, common areas, and other hospital facilities using hospital-specific equipment and cleaning supplies. The EVS Associate I ensures that all areas are free from trash, properly sanitized, and ready for use, thus supporting patient safety and comfort. This role also includes the management of inventory supplies such as paper products, hand sanitizer, and soap. Additionally, the associate handles linen services and cares for cleaning equipment, reporting any damages or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
Working hours for this role are from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, including weekend and holiday rotations, requiring flexibility and a strong commitment to the hospital’s operational needs. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- previous cleaning or environmental services experience preferred
- ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to follow department policies and procedures
- attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards
- ability to use hospital-specific cleaning equipment
- ability to report maintenance or safety issues
Job Qualifications
- Preferred high school diploma or GED
- one year preferred experience in a similar role
Job Duties
- Clean and disinfect floors using hospital-specific equipment such as microfiber cloths and wet mops
- clean and sanitize surfaces including over-bed tables, counters, furniture, toilets, urinals, sinks, showers, walls, floors, and mirrors
- clean and sanitize vertical surfaces like walls, ceilings, and windows
- ensure cleanliness of high dust surfaces, including picture frames, vents, and doorframes
- inspect rooms for proper cleaning and report any safety or maintenance issues
- remove trash and linen, clean receptacles, and prepare them for next use
- restock paper, hand sanitizer, and hand soap supplies
