Job Duties

  • Maintain floor and other surfaces by operating electric washing, stripping, waxing, polishing and vacuuming equipment
  • Perform general cleaning duties in assigned work areas by dusting, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping and vacuuming
  • Inspect assigned areas to ensure compliance with department standards, assure security and report deficiencies
  • Replenish dispensers such as soap, hand towels, toilet tissue and seat covers
  • Properly dispose of refuse including paper, patient fomites, needles, syringes, IV tubing and glass
  • Transport and dispose of soiled linen using approved methods
  • Clean and maintain receptacles and replace liners
  • Move equipment and furniture
  • Clean equipment such as wheelchairs and gurneys
  • Participate in staff development and training
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relations with personnel, patients, and public
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
