Currently, Equinox is seeking an energetic, creative Housekeeping Associate to join their team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and the Maintenance Manager On Duty, this non-exempt, hourly position is ideal for candidates eager to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and fast-growing company. The role focuses on ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of club facilities and exercise equipment, delivering exceptional customer service to members, prospective members, and guests. This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $16.50 and promises a supportive work environment where team collaboration and high performance are encouraged.

The Housekeeping Associate plays a crucial role in maintaining the pristine condition of the club’s public and exercise areas, including cleaning locker rooms, stocking consumables, organizing storage and laundry rooms, and ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and ready for use. This role requires a proactive attitude to assist with special events, manage deliveries, and notify management when urgent attention is needed. The position demands physical stamina as well, involving tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year related experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Must have a clear understanding of cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Prior cleaning and laundry services experience highly preferred
  • Ability to service athletic equipment and experience with cleaning products and hand tools
  • Strong skills in customer service, organization, communication and multitasking
  • Ability to work well within a team and take on additional tasks positively
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and established procedures
  • Must be physically able to perform job duties including standing, walking, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year related experience
  • High school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Must possess a clear understanding of what constitutes a clean and sanitary environment
  • Prior experience in cleaning and laundry services is highly preferred
  • Ability to service athletic equipment along with previous experience working with cleaning products and hand tools
  • Strong customer service, organizational, communication, and multi-tasking abilities
  • Must be able to work well with others in a team oriented environment where one willingly takes on additional tasks with a positive attitude to help out the team/department
  • Must be able to follow (written and oral) instructions and established procedures

Job Duties

  • Ensure that the club and exercise equipment are clean and well maintained while providing all members, prospective members, and guests with excellent customer service
  • Ensure that the sidewalk entrance and lobby are presentable
  • Clean the locker room and stock all locker room consumables
  • Clean and organize storage, laundry, exercise, and coat rooms
  • Maintain an adequate supply of towels on the exercise floor
  • Provide maintenance for all equipment
  • Use equipment appropriately and efficiently
  • Receive and store all deliveries
  • Assist with special events
  • Notify the Maintenance Manager when any rooms or equipment need immediate attention
  • Provide each member and potential member with the best quality customer service
  • Other duties as assigned
