The role of Hotel Housekeeper at Denco Family, Inc is critical to maintaining the pristine condition of the hotel. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of cleaning professionals responsible for cleaning and maintaining corridors, guest rooms, public areas, service areas, and linen closets. This role requires thoroughness in vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and sweeping to ensure cleanliness and upkeep. The housekeeper is also responsible for managing housekeeping supplies, handling laundry duties including stain removal and folding linens according to hotel standards, and assisting with luggage handling when necessary.

Beyond standard cleaning tasks, the Hotel Housekeeper plays an important part in safety and operational excellence. Duties include checking public restrooms and elevators for cleanliness, ensuring fire doors are open for safety, and reporting any damages or missing items in guest rooms. The role requires vigilance in maintaining the hotel’s appearance, including maintaining signage, emptying trash and linen bags, and adhering to company policies and brand standards. The housekeeper must be able to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and collaborate effectively with team members to provide top-notch hospitality services.

Job Duties

  • Promotes company mission, vision and core values
  • Responsible for the cleaning of corridors, guest areas, service areas and linen closets
  • Empty housekeepers' trash and linen bags
  • Deposits linen down chute and carries trash to the dumpster
  • Vacuum public areas, corridors and/or guestrooms
  • Delivers rollaway and cribs to guestrooms
  • Turn mattresses as directed by management
  • Stocks supplies needed for linen closets
  • Sweeps and mops service landings
  • Mops vending machine areas and keeps machines clean
  • Check all public restrooms for cleanliness several times daily
  • Check each floor to make sure fire doors are open
  • Check elevators for cleanliness
  • Assists with luggage handling
  • Cleans rooms when needed
  • Change bed linen daily
  • Dust all furniture
  • Remove fingerprints and smudges
  • Thoroughly clean the bathroom area
  • Make sure that the standard room set-up is complied with
  • Report immediately all damage found in a room
  • Report immediately all missing items in the room
  • Report immediately personal guest items found in vacant rooms
  • Notify housekeeping supervisor of all rollaways or cribs in rooms for pick-up and storage
  • Take responsibility for the pass key and make sure it is turned in daily
  • Turn in immediately all lost and found items to the supervisor
  • Checks lights and changes bulbs
  • Maintains outside grounds daily
  • Assists in the unloading of deliveries and the proper storage of such
  • Maintenance of the marquee
  • Responsible for laundry duties including stain removal, operating washers/dryers, folding linens, washing banquet and kitchen laundry, and bedspreads
  • Handles all laundry chemical products properly and advises housekeeper of inventory levels
  • Assists other housekeepers when necessary
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisors
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures and brand standards
