Job Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited body
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- ability to lift 50lbs and bend to floor and reach above head to perform duties requiring continuous physical effort
- ability to complete assigned tasks without direct supervision
- must be based in the greater Chicagoland area
- must comply with UChicago Medicine's COVID-19 vaccination requirement
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited body
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- ability to complete assigned tasks without direct supervision
- experience in custodial or housekeeping roles preferred
- knowledge of safety and sanitation standards in healthcare environments valued
Job Duties
- Clean, vacuum, and dust facilities and patient rooms performing 10-step general cleaning procedures
- clean high-touch surfaces including doorknobs, light switches, electrical outlets, faucets, and sinks
- restock paper and plastic supplies and soap in restrooms
- clean patient care items such as IV poles, IV pumps, and blood pressure cuffs
- clean inside and outside of refrigerators and ice machines
- collect and dispose of trash twice per shift in patient rooms and common areas
- remove soiled cubicle curtains and blinds and hang new ones
- perform other assigned duties
