Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or related field preferred
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with weekend availability
  • Capability to lift 30 pounds regularly
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to conduct inspections and enforce policies
  • Effective communication skills in English

Job Duties

  • Plan, organize and direct Environmental Services department programs and activities to maintain a clean, safe, sanitary and comfortable environment
  • Coordinate Housekeeping and Laundry Services with other facility departments and agencies
  • Assist in developing and maintaining written housekeeping policies and procedures
  • Ensure department personnel follow policies and utilize equipment and supplies effectively
  • Make recommendations to the Administrator regarding Housekeeping Department operations
  • Perform general housekeeping duties including vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and dusting flat surfaces
  • Conduct monthly inspections and correct any noted issues
  • Answer all house calls and assign work to staff
  • Work as a laundry attendant, housekeeper or porter when necessary
  • Accomplish work according to priority set by supervisor
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of supplies and equipment used
