The available position is for an Environmental Services team member at Kaiser Permanente’s San Ramon Medical Offices. Under direct supervision, the incumbent will undertake various cleaning and maintenance duties, operating specialized equipment and using standard cleaning products to upkeep patient areas, auxiliary spaces, and public zones in the facility. The position requires physical stamina and strength, as the employee must frequently lift weights up to 50 pounds, carry items weighing 25 pounds, and push carts weighing up to 200 pounds. Job Duties
- Operates and utilizes cleaning equipment such as wet mop unit, dust mop, back vacuum, automatic floor scrubber, shampoo machine, high speed buffer, carpet extractor, wet/dry vacuum, floor buffer, wall washer and utility cart
- Operates and utilizes sanipac, compactor and baler
- Cleans patient areas including restrooms, discharge beds, woodwork, horizontal surfaces, TVs cabinets, furniture, glass, walls, floors, and affixed items
- Replenishes dispensers and removes soiled linen and trash
- Cleans auxiliary areas such as medication room, nursing station, tub room, soiled utility rooms, storage areas, staff lounge, quiet rooms, offices, exam rooms, treatment rooms, waiting rooms, lobbies, elevators, water fountains, ice machines, telephones, horizontal surfaces and high dusting
- Replenishes supplies including paper towels, toilet paper, soap, plastic liners, paper cups, and seat covers
- Reports unsafe conditions and defective or damaged equipment
- Assures sharp objects are disposed in proper containers and follows safety rules and proper body mechanics
- Job does not have supervisory responsibilities
